Think Pink Foundation Opens new Breast Cancer Sanctuary at Yarra鈥檚 Edge
The Think Pink Foundation and 91自拍论坛celebrated the official opening of the new purpose built Think Pink Living Centre at Yarra鈥檚 Edge in Melbourne Docklands, officiated by Dr. Katie Allen MP, Federal Member for Higgins.
Along with the support of our generous supplier partners and consultants, we are delighted to have contributed over $1 Million to the new centre, which will assist Think Pink in providing holistic support to breast cancer patients, their families and carers, at any stage of their journey with breast cancer, free of charge.
It has been fantastic to see the 91自拍论坛team so driven to be a force for good, passionate about helping to create sustainable and resilient communities where people feel healthy, happy, connected and safe. This significant contribution continues our decade long relationship with the Think Pink Foundation and forms part of Mirvac鈥檚 commitment to invest $100 million in the social sector by 2030.
91自拍论坛has worked with Think Pink since its inception, assisting more than 3,000 women who have accessed Think Pink鈥檚 services. The delivery of the new Living Centre at Yarra鈥檚 Edge will ensure the foundation can continue to grow, delivering its unique and important services.
Our award winning in-house design team were thrilled to be involved on this special project. Led by Design Director, Michael Wiener and Design Senior Associate, Victor Wong, the new Living Centre鈥檚 flexible layout includes a function space, wig fitting room, therapy room, counselling room, kitchen and dining area, private offices for staff and storage space. 鈥淲e wanted to create an inviting space where people can dwell, where it doesn鈥檛 feel like a clinic and people don鈥檛 feel like they鈥檙e going to the doctor,鈥 Victor stated.
The location on the riverfront at Yarra鈥檚 Edge, will also assist in the general wellness of Think Pink鈥檚 clients and volunteers who will benefit from access to the lush parkland, and walking trails 鈥 not to mention the tranquil waterfront environment with city vistas 鈥 to enhance their Living Centre experience and assist with rehabilitation and recovery. Andrea Cannon, Think Pink Living Centre Manager and Breast Care Nurse said the facilities and the ambience of the new Living Centre design provide an atmosphere of calmness and restfulness. 鈥淏reast cancer can be a psychologically challenging time for clients, and they need private spaces, so it will be great to have areas designated for our different services, as well as private office space.鈥 Ms Cannon said the new Centre will provide clients with more access to outdoor activities, including a weekly walking group along the Yarra River, and will enable us to host more events for families and partners at the Wharf Landing Park on the new Living Centre鈥檚 doorstep. The official opening and ribbon cutting ceremony was followed by a tour of the outstanding new Living Centre, set to make an positive impact on many lives for years to come.
